How can business increase their likelihood that their email campaigns will be delivered (avoid being spammed) and read?

Simple and Easy to Read Design

Avoid confusing layouts. Ensure that your email’s design is consistent from issue to issue. In that way, the reader knows where to look for information. For example, if the email has a “News & Events” section followed by an “On Sale” section ensure that subsequently emails follow that format.

Your emails design should be consistent with you brand making it easily recognizable or identifiable.

Manage Your Email List

Check for legitimate email addresses. If your business is collecting email addresses from your website, send email to the user who signs up with a confirmation link. This will stop dummy emails from being added to your mailing list.

Manage your email list. If you are consistently sending emails to may be block or blacklisted as a potential spammer. Actively remove unsubscribe requests or bounced emails from your mails list.

Consider your target audience. Generally, the best time to send an email campaign is Tuesday through Thursday between 10am and 2pm. However, when considering the timing of your email campaign consider your audience, determine when you business obtains its maximum traffic and target your campaign around those times.
