Font Replacement, Letterpress, HUGH Typography
Letterpress FontA large element in web design is the use of typography. Traditionally, web designers have been restricted in their designs to utilizing fonts available on a users' computer. However, increasingly web designers are incorporating images into their designs as a replacement to font to give their designs more visual interest.
A type of font that is appearing in many web sites and print designs are letterpress styled fonts. This is a type of font that has raised sides which was an effect made by the direct impression of an ink type instrument.
The use of HUGH typography is also making its way into many designs as a means to make an impression and generate attentions.

Rich User Interfaces, Modal Boxes
CursorAs web based applications become prevalent in web design, the web based interface with which the user interacts is becoming more design oriented and stylish. Flash and AJAX are being utilized to enhance the interactivity and design.
Modal Boxes are essentially pop-up dialog boxes. These somewhat annoying pop-up boxes are actually making a comeback. The emerging trend is to use these boxes to draw attention to additional contents without having to reload or re-direct to another web page.
